FAQs

Your first visit is designed to feel relaxed, informative and completely tailored to you. We’ll begin with a brief assessment, talk through your goals, and guide you through the entire process so there are no surprises.
Our treatments are enamel safe and suitable for first time clients. If your oral health isn’t in the right condition, we’ll always let you know and postpone treatment if needed.
For first timers, we typically recommend two treatments close together for the best and most even results. The first session begins lifting surface and deeper stains, while the second enhances and refines your final shade.
-
We use professional grade, low-sensitivity technology designed to be comfortable and enamel-safe. Most clients experience little to no discomfort. If sensitivity does occur, it’s typically mild and temporary and we include desensitising care as part of your treatment.
-
Results vary from person to person and depend on factors like natural tooth shade, lifestyle habits, and previous whitening history. Most clients see a noticeable lift after one session, however for optimal, even results we often recommend a series of two treatments.
-
Cosmetic teeth whitening is a process, not a one off fix.
The first treatment begins breaking down surface and deeper stains, while the second refines and enhances your final shade. This approach delivers more even, predictable and longer lasting results, especially for first time clients or stubborn staining. -
With proper aftercare and maintenance, results can last several months. Regular express top ups every 3–4 months and consistent at home care will keep your smile bright for longer.
-
Whitening is suitable for most adults, however certain conditions (such as untreated decay, gum disease, or pregnancy) may mean treatment should be postponed. We assess every client individually to ensure safety and suitability.
-
Sensitive teeth are very common and in most cases, it doesn’t mean you can’t whiten. Our treatments are designed to be enamel safe and we tailor every session to your comfort level.
If you’re prone to sensitivity, we take a more gradual approach and can offer to split your treatment into two, 40 minutes one day and another 40 minutes a few days later.
Any sensitivity experienced is typically mild and temporary, resolving within 24–48 hours.
We’ll always assess your teeth beforehand and, if whitening isn’t suitable at the time, we’ll let you know. Your comfort and oral health come first, always.
-
Because teeth are more porous immediately after whitening, we recommend following a white diet for 24 hours to avoid staining. While optional, it significantly improves and prolongs your results.
-
As a precaution, we do not perform teeth whitening during pregnancy. While professional whitening is considered low risk, we always take a conservative approach and recommend waiting until after pregnancy.
Cosmetic teeth whitening is generally considered safe while breastfeeding, as whitening agents act locally on the teeth and are not systemically absorbed. However, every client is different and we encourage you to discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider for peace of mind.
Many breastfeeding clients choose to proceed, while others prefer to wait. We’re always happy to talk through your options and timing so you feel comfortable and informed.
-
Yes, when performed correctly. Our treatments are designed to protect enamel and gum health. We will not proceed if your oral health isn’t suitable, and we always recommend regular dental check-ups and cleans.
-
The short answer is no. Teeth whitening only changes the shade of your natural tooth enamel. Fillings, crowns and veneers will not lighten with whitening treatments.
If these restorations have been colour-matched to your current tooth shade, whitening your natural teeth may make them appear a different colour by comparison. This is most noticeable on front teeth, where restorations are more visible.
That said, many clients have successful whitening treatments despite having dental work. Our treatments are carried out in 20-minute intervals, allowing us to assess your shade after each session and ensure any contrast remains subtle and balanced. If at any point the difference becomes more noticeable than desired, we can simply stop the treatment.
Having restorations doesn’t automatically rule you out , it just means your treatment will be approached with extra care and professional judgement.
We’re always happy to assess your smile and guide you through what to expect before you begin.

Whitening toothpastes from your local chemist or grocer don’t actually whiten the teeth. Most rely on abrasive ingredients to scrub away surface staining, creating the appearance of brightness rather than a true shade change.
With prolonged use, these abrasives can wear down enamel and increase sensitivity, without addressing deeper or internal discolouration. In other words, they polish rather than whiten.
Cosmetic teeth whitening works within the enamel to safely lift stains and create a genuine, lasting result. Whitening toothpastes can be useful as a maintenance tool after treatment, but they’re not suitable for everyday, long term use.
For us, protecting enamel health is non negotiable, so it’s a no from us at TTWB.

At The Teeth Whitening Boutique, your safety and results always come first. While mobile teeth whitening may sound convenient, it doesn’t allow for the level of clinical control we require.
Teeth whitening is a professional treatment performed within the oral cavity and relies on proper equipment, strict hygiene protocols and a controlled environment to be both safe and effective. Mobile settings can limit infection control standards and compromise consistency of results.
By offering treatments exclusively in clinic, we’re able to maintain the highest standards of care, comfort and precision. Ensuring every client receives a safe, seamless and results driven experience.
Simply put, your smile deserves more than convenience

For best results, we recommend booking your initial teeth whitening treatment 2–4 weeks before your event. This allows time for your shade to fully settle and, if needed, for a second treatment or top up to refine your results.
If you’re whitening for a wedding, special occasion or photoshoot, many clients choose a final top up 3–7 days before the event for a fresh, just whitened finish.
Everyone’s smile responds differently, so allowing a little buffer time ensures a more even, predictable and stress free result.
If you’re working to a tight deadline, reach out, we’ll always guide you on the best option for your timeline.

The Teeth Whitening Boutique is not a high volume whitening service. It’s a considered, clinical led experience designed around results, safety and consistency.
Every treatment is performed in a controlled, hygienic clinic environment and guided by professional judgement, not a one size fits all approach. We work in timed intervals, assess results as we go, and tailor each session to your individual smile.
Beyond the treatment itself, we focus on the full experience, from education and aftercare to comfort, calm and attention to detail. It’s why many of our clients return regularly and trust us with their most important moments.
Simply put, we don’t chase convenience or shortcuts. We prioritise quality, longevity and smiles that look natural, every single time.
